Lisa Stone is originally from Upstate New York on the Finger Lakes, and a Florida resident since 1998. She started her jewelry design career in the early 2000's when she attended a beading class with some friends. "I found it so enjoyable that I sought out classes to learn other design techniques" she goes on to state. With modest beginnings she was creating jewelry for family, friends and for various fundraising initiatives. Her passion for creating one-of-a-kind pieces and quest to express her creativity led Lisa to make a dream come true! She started a second artistic career in both jewelry design and expressive photography after retiring from a professional career as a Human Resources Director in both the private and public sector.
In the early 1980's Lisa worked in a High-end Fine Jewelry store in Rochester, NY where she was trained in the Gemological Insitute of America (GIA) system for grading precious and semi-precious gemstones.
"You will see by the body of work represented here that the organic designs are influenced by my love of the outdoors...both land and sea".
Today she is found exhibiting her creations at the finest art shows across the country!
Douglas Brandow began his career as a gem cutter and jewelry designer in 1974 while working for a prominent lapidary in New York. Following graduation with a degree in Geology in 1978 from Norwich University, he finished his training through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Santa Monica, CA.
Douglas began his "mining adventures" to the origins for the finest gem rough in the world; deep into the jungles of Brazil, and the "bush" of West Africa. After learning the mining trade by living part time in central Brazil, his career continued to evolve into the ownership of several investment gem mines. Lately he has mined alluvial gold along the Pra River in Ghana and high-grade gem material from central Nigeria. This firsthand knowledge contributes today to his discernment of the quality gem rough he continues to collect for faceting. Douglas has studied with premier gold designers in Brazil and Germany, lending valued trade experience for those designing concepts found in our showcase today.
His designs are completely original because they evolve from the raw form specimen for cutting, to the completed uniqueness in each hand sculpted setting.
Douglas continues to showcase his work at select fine art shows throughout the U. S.
